What the **** am I up to?

Summertime Goodness

Posted in Special Projects by Esther on July 22, 2010

I haven’t updated in ages because I didn’t have too much to share. I have been working on a challenging and interesting commission as well as  a small series I will hopefully have the first piece ready for in time for the Hallwalls member’s show.

This weekend as most of Buffalo knows, is Garden Walk weekend. My good friend (and patron) Gordon Ballard has asked me to do some nature-related doodling in his garden for the weekend (10-4 Saturday & Sunday).  The garden itself is an insanely gorgeous little botanical wonderland that represents more time and effort than I can even imagine. Come stop by and say hi as I get steadily drunker and focus on improving my insect anatomy. I plan on catching a few live subjects as well as working on some tiny watercolor blocks, so if nothing else, just to see what I’ve got in my canning jars a few hours in will be entirely worth it.

Another thing I have going is volume #2 of Elephant Gun. Me and Sal just completed it and will be releasing it August 1st at the Broadway Market during the infringement artist sale. It is a light-hearted split, mostly stories about animals in my half, but one or two personal stories I tossed in the mix.

A cruddy cellphone snap is unfortunately all I have just now.

The first volume turned out really well and I think if you liked that one, you are going to love this one. I hope to see you at any of the three upcoming events!
