Fornicating Beetles

I finished a small series of 3 just in time to be picked up for a group show of small works  at Studio Hart curated by Gerald Mead the first Friday in October. These were based on the two days I spent staring at Japanese beetles in Gordon’s garden during Garden Walk. The little guys were pretty focused on their activities so I got a lot of good sketching in:

To be fair I guess there wasn’t much else to do inside a jar. Uncontrollable urge indeed!
